Delete your account

In short. You can delete your DinoWar account and all its data whenever you want. The quickest way is to do it yourself from the game, under Account → Delete account; if you can't sign in, write to us.
Deletion is permanent: afterwards nobody can recover the account, not even us.
From the game
It works the same in the app and in the browser, at play.dinowar.app: you don't need the app installed.
- Sign in to your account and, in the menu, tap Account.
- On the My account tab, scroll down to Delete account and tap I want to delete my account.
- Type your player name where asked, to confirm it's you.
- Tap Delete forever. The account is deleted right away and you're signed out.
If you're in the middle of a duel, finish it first: while it lasts the account can't be deleted, so your opponent isn't left without a game. And if you don't remember your password, tap Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen and we'll send you a link to set a new one.
Without signing in to the game
If you can't or don't want to sign in, request it by email at [email protected]:
- write from the email address you created the account with: that's how we know the account is yours;
- put “Delete my account” in the subject and your player name in the message.
We'll delete the account and confirm it by email within 30 days at most. A request from a different email address isn't enough to delete an account: we'll ask you to confirm it from the account's address.
What gets deleted
Everything the game stores about you:
- your email address and your password;
- your player name;
- your collection, your decks, your dinocoins and shards, and your cosmetics;
- your missions, achievements, expeditions, league, and tournament runs;
- your games and the emotes you sent in duels;
- your invites and the error reports from your games;
- your place in your tribe. If you were the chief, leadership passes to whoever has been in it the longest; if you were the last member, the whole tribe is deleted. Fossils you already handed in to the stockpile stay with the tribe, which belongs to everyone.
What is kept, and for how long
Nothing that is still used. Your data may remain for up to seven days in the service's automatic backups, which overwrite themselves and are only used to restore the whole database after a failure. After that, nothing is left.
On your device, the game signs you out and forgets your preferences when you delete the account. The graphics and music already downloaded go away when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data in your browser.
